General Contractor for Whole-Home and Multi-Room Projects in Greater Boston
Several rooms. One crew. One schedule. Sun Shore Construction plans every room in writing, then builds it with one team that keeps every room on the same plan.
One team, one contract, for every room in the project.
Pick the rooms you need. We plan them together so the flooring runs through, the paint matches, and nobody waits on another crew.
Project planning and management
We walk every room with you, measure, and talk through what stays, what goes, and what each space needs to do for your family. You leave the walkthrough knowing which rooms belong in one project, and which can wait.
Written estimate, room by room
You get a written scope that lists the work in each room. Add a room, drop one, or change the order before anything is signed. Materials are separate: pick your own, or we help you buy them and hand over every receipt.
Permit filing and coordination
We set the order of work so rooms that share walls, pipes or floors are handled together. When the job needs a building permit, we file it. Electrical and plumbing permits are pulled by the partner trades for those trades, and we coordinate them as part of your project.
Coordination with architects and designers
We work from the plans for your project and keep the schedule, the scope, and the rooms in step with each other, so a change in one room does not surprise another room.
Supervision of subcontractors and trades
One point of contact for every room, from the first walkthrough to the last punch-list item. You do not manage separate contractors.
Quality control
Floors and stairs get covered and work areas sealed off. If we find something behind a wall, we show you and decide together before it changes anything.
Kitchens
Cabinet refinishing or new cabinets, backsplash, sinks and faucets, and range hoods vented outside.
Bathrooms
Tub-to-shower conversions, walk-in showers, tile, vanities, and glass doors.
Flooring
Hardwood and tile, with subfloor repair.
Walls and paint
Drywall repair, patching, primer, and finish coats.
Basements and laundry
New laundry rooms and finished basement space.
Home additions, decks and porches, windows and doors
Planned with the same room-by-room scope and the same single schedule, so an addition or an exterior project does not run as a separate job.
Four projects, in detail.
Real projects from our own photo files. No stock images are used here.
A whole-house update: half bath, guest bath, kitchen, hardwood, and 14 rooms painted.
Guest bath: tub converted to a walk-in shower with a niche and sliding glass door; new tile floor, vanity and mirror. Half bath: vanity cabinet repainted, new top and faucet, new exhaust fan vented to the outside wall. Kitchen: cabinets sanded, primed and painted with new hardware; new lower cabinet; new backsplash; range hood vented outside. Carpet replaced with prefinished hardwood, about 1,100 sq ft. Walls in 14 rooms patched, primed and painted.

New floor plan: two baths and a laundry room.
Walls and ceilings opened; framed to a new floor plan; insulation added on exterior walls and under the crawl space. Water supply and drains redone for the new layout. Walk-in showers with glass doors, a tub with a niche, floating vanities, and an LED mirror. New laundry room: dedicated dryer outlet and vent, countertop above the washer and dryer. Building permit filed for the project.

Walls moved: two baths and a reworked hallway.
Wall between the hallway and bedroom moved and reframed; new pocket door into the bath. First bath: walk-in shower with glass door and a freestanding tub. Second bath: shower with niche and bench, new vanity and toilet. Hallway ceiling repaired, new drywall, hardwood floor repaired. New closet built; new windows; bedroom and closet doors and door locks replaced.

Three bathrooms plus the fix-list.
Walk-in shower built on a mortar base with full waterproofing, sliding glass door and niche. Second bath fully torn out: new tub, wall and floor tile, vanity, toilet and exhaust fan. First-floor bath renovated. Kitchen: drywall repaired and painted, tile under the range hood, new faucet. Around the house: attic stair rail repaired, attic shower valve replaced, shed doors fixed.

Six steps, in order.
Nothing skipped.
The middle steps happen inside your walls, where you will not see them once we close up, so here they are.
Walkthrough and scope
We walk every room with you, measure, and talk through what stays, what goes, and what each space needs to do for your family. You leave the walkthrough knowing which rooms belong in one project, and which can wait.
Written estimate, room by room
You get a written scope that lists the work in each room. Add a room, drop one, or change the order before anything is signed. Materials are separate: pick your own, or we help you buy them and hand over every receipt.
Schedule and permits
We set the order of work so rooms that share walls, pipes or floors are handled together. When the job needs a building permit, we file it. Electrical and plumbing go to partner trades under their own permits. You know ahead of time which kitchen or bathroom is out of use, and when.
Demolition and rough work
Floors and stairs get covered and work areas sealed off. Then walls open up: new framing, insulation, supply lines and drains. If we find something behind the wall, we show you and decide together before it changes anything.
Waterproofing, then finishes
Every shower gets a full waterproofing layer, walls, niche and bench, before a single tile goes up. Then tile, flooring, cabinets, fixtures and paint.
Final walkthrough
We walk the house with you room by room, work through the punch list, and leave it clean.
Frequently asked questions
Can you renovate several rooms at the same time?
Yes, that is what this service is for. We plan the order so rooms that share walls, plumbing or flooring are done together, and we tell you ahead of time which rooms will be out of use and when.
How does the estimate work?
We visit first and walk every room with you. Then we send a written estimate that lists the work in each room, so you can add, remove or reorder rooms before you sign. Materials are handled separately: choose your own, or we help you buy them and give you the receipts.
Who does the electrical and plumbing?
Partner trades for electrical and plumbing. We schedule and coordinate them as part of your project, so you deal with one team instead of hiring separate contractors.
Do you handle permits?
When the work needs a building permit, we file the application. Electrical and plumbing permits are pulled by the partner trades for those trades.
Can we live in the house during the work?
That depends on which rooms are being worked on, and we plan it with you at the walkthrough. Floors and stairs are covered, work areas are sealed off, and we clean up at the end of each day.
Is the work covered after it is finished?
Warranty terms, including the labor warranty period, are written into your contract.
What areas around Boston do you serve?
